WOMEESA's First Birthday on IWD 2019

March 8 is International Women’s Day, a day to focus on our achievements and challenges ahead in the movement for women's rights around the world. International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognised for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

International Women’s Day (IWD) this year marks WOMEESA’s 1st Birthday and so to celebrate we encourage you to organise IWD WOMEESA Morning Teas in your departments, organisations and institutions. We are putting together a promotional pack to support your event and a member email will be sent to you with the link very very shortly. You can also request IWD materials for a limited time from

Please take photos of your events (with permission) and post on social media using the hashtags #WOMEESA #IWD2019 and #BalanceforBetter and we will repost/retweet (twitter: @WOMEESA; facebook: You can also email us your snaps and a caption of your IWD WOMEESA Morning Tea for us to include in the next newsletter and to publish through our social media channels.
